HK Day Four
Temperatures fell suddenly to 12°C due to a severe winter monsoon and we decided not to venture too far off.
Had breakie at this 茶餐厅 near our hotel. Delia ordered their breakfast set which costed only 24 HKD.
I ordered peanut butter thick toast and minced meat bee hoon soup. Love their toast!
And of course, their famous HK ice milk tea!
One thing i like about this place is their integrated cutlery drawer at every table. Saves space and makes things so much easier.
Walked down to mongkok east to try the tai cheung bakery egg tart that we've heard so much about.
Nothing really special despite all the hype and positive reviews.
Spent the day in mongkok and visited places like...
Literally translated as wash clothes street. Cute name!
There's this shop along fa yuen street that i really like! Their clothes are priced at 50 HKD per item. (refer to shopping bag below for shop name)
Taken with an ah sir who was on duty lol!
Delia and i agreed that HK streets are very practically-named. Like...
Flower market road which sold all kinds of flowers at low prices. A nicely wrapped bouquet of a dozen roses costs only 79 HKD.
Yuen po street bird market. Be prepared however, for the morning cacophony of bird singing which can be rather deafening.
And goldfish street! HAHAHA.
Bought their smelly toufu to try but didn't finish it 'cause it was too oily. And personally, i dun think its smelly lol.
Our last stop was ladies market. Managed to get good bargains here with our basic canto which came in handy hehe!
As the rain got heavier, we headed back to langham mall to have dessert.
Sesame paste and mango sago.
Spent the afternoon nua-ing at our hotel until the rain got smaller. The streets were so wet when we went out to have dinner.
Went back to the same 茶餐厅 as i wanted to try their dinner set.
The nicest watercress soup i've had! Sweet and comforting.
My veggie side dish and three treasures rice with a choice of roast goose, roast pork and BBQ pork. SUPER NICE!
Man. i can live in HK and not get sick of their food.
