Farewell Mr Lee

Unlike other sundays, i took time out from work to observe an important moment in singapore's history. The mourning of our founding father, Mr Lee Kuan Yew.

From the vehicular procession to the eulogies, i witnessed how much Mr Lee means to the people. Although i'm not from the generation that witnessed what Mr Lee has done in his earlier days, i'm fortunate to be living in this generation of singaporeans who benefited from his hard work

I got emotional when i went to pay tribute at the community centre. The words that were penned down expressed an inexpressible gratitude towards Mr Lee. Although he has passed on, he has left behind a legacy. As a nation, we share this moment of grief and remembrance.

In remembering LKY, i wrote a poem tribute.

In the dash that lies between,
you raised a nation through difficult times.
In those dark moments,
you gave a dash of hope,
a dash of life.
The dash - is all that remains.
But the dash - has made all the difference.

Without your far-sightedness and fierce love for singapore, we will not be where we are today. Thank YEW.
