The original plan for last thurday's dinner with daddy was to have ponggol nasi lemak at katong. But they were closed. So we explored the area for other options. And tucked in a corner is this hidden gem.
It looked very empty at first but within minutes, the restaurant was packed with local and international customers. Their food is authentic and reasonably priced. This was what we had, in order of taste...
Pork floss soft shell crab. My first time eating this perfect combination, drizzled with mayonnaise. Even the dad voted this as his favourite dish.
Fried prawn toast. i was expecting it to be triangular, like the ones in thai express but it turned out differently. The toast was crispy and fully stuffed. As usual, i cleaned the sauce plate of all its sweet thai chilli sauce. Yums!
Pineapple fried rice never goes wrong. The best i've eaten in singapore so far was at golden mile complex and this is comparable to their standard. Addictive!
The dad's usual order at any thai restaurant. Which means, i've also tasted mango sticky rice from various places. i'm not a fan of this dish and the usually sour mango puts me off but this is different. i couldn't resist the sweet mango slices.
The rather tasteless pandan chicken. i've eaten this dish at another thai place that was recommended by Ping and it was good! But this was so bland because there wasn't any pandan fragrance and the chicken was very dry.
Still, it was a satisfying dinner and we sat there for 2 hours, just talking and eating. i'm definitely going back again to try their tom yum soup!
