The Phantom Returns

I watched the Phantom in 2007 when it was staged at Esplanade and it really left an impression on me. Now that it's back again, i wanted to see what was different. Ping had also watched it in the UK so it was a second time for both of us.

The whole comeback was pretty large scale. They even had photo booths where proceeds would be donated to charity. And as usual, i got the programme book.

Visually, the 2013 version has done it a lot better, especially the scene of Christine at her father's graveyard. i like the mini pyrotechnics effect. Brad Little was really good, again. He stole my tears at the end of the show for a second time! Even though he is more psychotic now, he still won me over with his singing.

But something just felt different. i guess it's the crowd and the theatre. i've never liked MBS that much and the crying child 2 rows in front of me was just... Distracting.

Still, the songs and singing were good. Their music engulfs me.
