It is really when a person is at his/her lowest point that we appreciate all the little things that people do.
For me, i'm thankful that my brother who is 6 years younger than me, was able to step up and take me to the doctor's. He directed the cabby driver, registered for me and even paid for my medical bills. i was like a puking machine and could barely function.
Even my mum who is usually naggy and cranky bought bread and nestum cereal when i didn't have appetite. She decided to cook macaroni for me too because i told her i didn't want to eat porridge anymore.
I'm thankful especially to my dad who sent me back from the clinic when it was difficult to get a cab, bought dinner for me when no one else was home and specially went to ya kun to buy my favourite toast.
And i'm grateful for a good friend and colleague who took the trouble to travel down just to pass me my work laptop. Thanks bro!
Of course, i'm thankful for the boyfriend who has been showering me with care. Even though we aren't residing in the same country, his timely parcel cheered me up a lot.
And lastly, a much pleasant surprise from students who bombarded me with messages of concern. It makes me happy to know that my students are capable of showing empathy to their teachers. This to me, is more important than scoring As.
This episode has opened my eyes to the positive side of things. Though i won't want to go through the same trauma again. Heehee.
