I never imagined typing a post like this.

Despite the many literature texts i've read about the strong love between two star-crossed lovers (okie fine, i'm actually only thinking about Romeo and Juliet at this point of time). Its sweet and sad, and i feel for the characters but somehow, i can't really identify with that kind of intensity.

Well, i used to be quite naive in my younger days, thinking that love is everything because i'm pretty much a hopeless romantic. But realistically speaking, it isn't. The top 3 things that couples quarrel about is money, sex and work, which are quite practical issues. It makes it so easy to question...

Where is the love? Is it possible for love and hate to co-exist? Hence, a love-hate relationship?

As bipolar as it sounds, there are people who actually believe and live with it. They put up with harsh words, physical hurt and even exploitation. How can love even be in the equation when things are so screwed up?

To take things away from the extreme, it is quite normal for couples to bicker and quarrel over disagreements or differences. But at which point do you consider calling it quits?

I happened to read this article about runaway brides and know of people myself who called off the relationship just before their wedding. And my reaction is just... *jaw-drop*

Then again, love is a feeling and to me, it is not something that can be rationalized. Example, boy thinks girl fits into his type, boy decides he is in love with the girl (now this sounds a bit like The Importance of Being Earnest) but i guess, love can be irrational sometimes and even impulsive. The case of Mary Kay Letourneau and Vill Fualaau was a huge debate. i couldn't bring myself to finish watching their interview because it was too disturbing. Viewers comments were of course, pretty extreme.

Having said this, it does seem like society is becoming hay-wired. Maybe we'll be better off with a zombie apocalypse lol, just saying.

But above and beyond, i'm thankful to have someone who makes me feel loved, just the way love is.
