Flying off tonight and reality still hasn't seem to set in.

Been tending to work matters since forever: bridging lessons, staff meeting and courses. Today is finally my first day of freedom (although technically i still have next year's work to do)...

Anyway! Dinners with daddy last thursday and yesterday were awesome. He was really sweet to accompany me to satisfy my local cravings before i leave.

TIM SUM

When i mentioned tim sum, the first place that came to his mind was yum cha. Although service was horrible that day and we both complained about the auntie waitress, i think times spent with my dad are always refreshing.

They didn't have my egg tarts and custard bun so choices were limited and these were what we had...

My fave were the char siew puff and har gow. i love tim sum!

Yesterday after attending first aid course, i asked daddy to suggest where to eat and he brought us to katong's five star hainanese chicken rice.

CHICKEN RICE

I've been wanting to try kampong chicken rice after watching Pornsak's foodie show. They say kampong chicken's the best because they have lots of exercise and are lean, which means they are less oily. i had to agree with that!

Our half chicken. The soup was good too and lots of foreigners specially went there just to have chicken rice. They even have drive-in lol. Saw the staff bringing over the packets of chicken rice to cars that were parked along the road. Otherwise, delivery hotline is 6777 5555 (i had to include their number because it was just too easy to remember!)

Besides chicken rice, we also ordered...

STINGRAY

One of my fave local food! Unfortunately, the spiciness was beyond my threshold (considering i have high tolerance level of spiciness) and i couldn't finish even half of it. But it was really good.

The stingray served at five star is different from the usual ones. There's a lot more meat and the stingray is less oily because its cooked and slightly fried. For this plate of fleshy stingray, we only paid 13 bucks.

Gonna miss all the yummy local food for a month! Then again, i'll be able to enjoy my favourite beef :)
