MOTAT
We actually visited the place 2 years ago here but we missed out on the aviation display hall as we didn't have time. So we went back to finish off our mission! And june was a great month for us to do so because entry's free for all.
As expected, the place was really cool, with all the airplane stuff.
Its like a gallery walk down the history of NZ airplanes. And my fave is this...
HAHAHA. Its so cute! A very simple functional plane which looks really fragile, like it'll fly away with the wind.
I like this too! Super skyhawk! Doesn't it look cool and well.. Majestic?
His fave one with the funny-looking beak.
This picture was taken to accentuate the gianormity of that statue fella behind me.
The place also has an outdoor exhibition area which sadly, was the dumping ground for the older airplanes that had nowhere else to store (or so we overhead from the guided tour guide).
These are airplanes that were used to defend NZ during world war II.
The corridor that leads to the outside viewing area.
Stairs leading up to the second floor.
On the second level of the interior viewing gallery, achievements of Jane Batten, NZ's first woman pilot, are kept in commemoration.
I like this trophy with the cute airplane on top!
Any idea what's the role of a batsman? (no, not batman..)
They play a very important role of signalling to the pilot when to land by looking at the direction of the wind. The bats (hence, batsman) are raised when it is safe for landing.
Kinda like their women's uniform, kekeke.
Some wartime belongings, including an official pass, food menu and maps. They even had malay glossary for airmen.
We boarded the free tram ride (usually purchased at 1NZD) because i'd wanted to try it since the last time. Even though it was just a short ride, it made me really happy.
The view from inside the tram...
Happy visitors, hehe.
After our museum walk, we pulled over at the nearby park for some scenic moments. NZ parks are so pretty!
WESTERN SPRINGS PARK
It was really nice while we were there. Cool air and happy sights of ducks frolicking about.
Walking towards happy land!
Black swans spotted too!
Cute duckies coming onto dry land after a swim in an orderly manner!
CUTE MAX!
I miss NZ! Can't wait to be back when its warm and summery with love :)
