Was watching running man and realised that i was in korea two months ago! But i just couldn't find time to update about my trip :(

Since i miraculously do not have any marking to do this weekend, i shall finally get started on my awesome winter holiday in...

KOREA

Our 11.50 pm flight on 16 DEC last year marked the start of an exciting time. And piggy was really sweet to come to my place and send me off at the airport, even though it was supposed to be his holiday trip in singapore. *LOVES*

Had dinner at paradise inn, terminal 1 before checking in.

I was still recovering from gastrics then and decided on chinese cuisine, comprising of braised pork belly bun, ginseng chicken soup and fried rice.

As a kid, i liked pushing these airport trolleys. And now that i'm way past my kiddy days, i still like doing it keke! Took the sky train to terminal 3 for check-in and met up with Ping.

Two very excited girls! Upon boarding our 6 hour flight, we smiled away like little kids when we saw the christmas decorations inside the plane.

How festive and welcoming, keke!

We didn't sleep on the plane as we're both late night owls. And SQ's flight entertainment kept us up! Breakfast was served 2 hours before landing and i thought this was cute.

Spotted the beautiful sunrise while preparing to land! Xue mei was happily taking pictures of it haha...

Soon enough, we arrived at incheon airport on 17 DEC and it was freezing cold at -10 degrees celsius!

Took the airport bus to hongik university station and headed to seoulwise guest house to dump our luggages. Our host was really nice! He gave us maps and directions to nearby shopping places like myeong-dong.

Myeong-Dong

Got there via the subway (which has a really complicated map). Refer below.

Seoul's subway is a really convenient way to get to anywhere. We alighted at myeong-dong station and exited to find ourselves in a shopping paradise.

With lots of foodie places too! The starving tourists randomly entered a shop that sells tonkatsu curry rice set for 9000 won.

Our first meal in korea: cheese tonkatsu curry rice!

Myeong-dong has clones of face shop, skin food, etude house and missa. Its hard to find a landmark because there are repeated shops everywhere. Even cafe outlets like coffee bean and smoothie king.

It was almost impossible to shop in the cold and to keep ourselves warm, we hid away at smoothie king for some hot drinks.

Strawberry latte before moving off to...

Dong Dae MunDong dae mun market with its street stalls.

Tried their korean rice cakes which had an interesting taste, though i wun say i like it a lot.

The weekend crowd was crazy and tired from not having enough sleep, we decided to head back for dinner.

On our way back, we randomly went into a korean BBQ place which had lots of people. i mean, if there's many people, the food should be nice right? So, we decided to give it a shot and for only 10000 won, we had a satisfying dinner!

Mouth-drooling marinated meat!

Back at seoul wise, we repacked our luggage for busan and jeju island, where we spent our next 5 days. A glimpse of our guest house...

Computer room and kitchen, which were really cold at night because there's no heater.

It was nice having the 4-bedded room to ourselves with super strong wifi for whatsapp-ing. Hehehe.

Yep, the room was also cold because there's only an air-con and no heater. Had to wear hoodie and socks to sleep, while burying myself under the thin blanket cover. Brrr...

That was how we spent day one, fighting against the cold.
