21 June: Phi Phi Island!
People say, its a waste not to go phi phi island when you are in phuket and i totally agree! Had breakfast at our resort before setting off.
Our driver came to pick us up at 7.45 am and stopped by a few more hotels in patong area. The journey to the pier took almost an hour and we both fell asleep.
The pier where we all gathered to get onto the ferry.
While waiting for our ferry which took forever to depart, we took pictures, checked them and re-took like countless times haha!
When we finally left, it was...
44 mins behind schedule.
Our first stop: KHAI ISLAND.
Min and i were happily sitting on one of those colourful beach chairs when a fierce looking thai guy asked us to pay 100 baht. We had no money with us at that time because we had left our valuables in the locker. So, we moved away and decided to snorkel. But the waters were too shallow and the rocks kept cutting my feet.
After an hour, we returned to the ferry where lunch was served in buffet style.
Food was expectedly below average. i only ate it because i needed to fill my stomach. Jiamin couldn't finish hers because the lady seated in front of her was puking away. Even for me, i felt a little nauseous after lunch because the waves were really choppy.
Second stop: MAYA BAY.
Mesmerising waters, with distinct shades of blue.
We first took a smaller boat to see the monkeys but there weren't any that day and we had to take the boat back to get our snorkeling gear.
This picture was taken by Min and i thought it funny because it looked like everyone was frantically escaping for dear life.
Our second attempt at snorkeling which was really fun! There were so many fishies to see!
Still drenched from snorkeling, we arrived at our third stop in 30 mins.
Us at phi phi island!
We had to make a compulsary donation to clean up phi phi island as "entrance fee". And we had an hour to roam around...
Take pictures.
Quench our thirst with some...
"Very very cool" thai coconut juice! Haha!
And yummy crispy chicken wings for only 20 baht.
Resting our happy feet after a long day.
Because i stupidly left my DSLR on and drained its battery when i dozed off on the ferry back, Jiamin used her iPhone to capture our night-time itinerary, which i'll continue again hehehe!
