Been trying to get some work done for the last few hours but i'm pretty much brain dead. The procrastinator inside me is acting out again hoho.

That reminds me. i haven't updated about my long overdue phuket trip!

Its nice to reminisce on happy times like this. The nicest part of it all was the fact that it was my

FIRST BESTIES HOLIDAY TRIP WITH MIN! :)

20 June: Hello Phuket!

Daddy drove us to the airport where we had breakfast with her boyfriend. The very excited us took pics of our first overseas trip together.

While waiting to board our plane...

Which was a pretty upsetting experience. Never mind if they didn't give us seats beside each other, which made talking very difficult. We were delayed at phuket international airport for 30 mins because the flight attendants forgot to give us our arrival cards. There is really no excuse for such negligence when it is a standard procedure.

Luckily, our hotel driver did not leave without us. i was all ready to hop on happily, when i saw this...

I unknowingly became a mister ><

But the driver was really nice. He was able to speak in mandarin and laughed with us at how the hotel got my thing confused. When we reached deevana patong, we were pleasantly surprised to know that our original room was upgraded to a superior room!

After dumping our stuff, we cabbed down to central festival market to have lunch and shop. Having read so many positive online reviews, i was disappointed by the limited stuff they have.

My green curry fried rice.

Sawadeeka!

Headed back to our hotel in an hour and waited for our bangpae elephant safari driver to pick us up. Thankfully, the afternoon plan turned out well and made up for our screwed up morning hehe!

We were shown how rubber tapping is done.

Baby elephant show which had dancing, harmonica performance, elephant kiss and feeding.

The highlight of the day was definitely the 30 mins of elephant trekking. It was sooooooo fun! We didn't just stay on land but went into the river as well. There was this really steep slope down the river and both of us screamed as the elephant went down. Thrilling!

Our first time riding on an elephant. And to commemorate our experience, we bought this...

After that, we moved over to bangpae waterfall where the gibbons project is also located at. i didn't see any gibbons but Min said she did. Hmm...

The last part of our 5-in-1 bangpae safari package was canoeing. It was a really beautiful sight where we witnessed the pretty sunset.

The 5.30 pm sun was still very very hot!

When mudskipper meets crabby.

I did some paddling myself as well. The lady who paddelled for me was mute and i felt so sorry for her. Yet, she looks happy and contented. Although we couldn't really communicate, i felt that i learnt a lot from her.

Anyway. We spent the night at jungceylon where i was sooooo happy to find my naraya bags! Explored soi bangla and the night markets leading back to our resort.

Soi bangla is a stretch of road with bars, clubs and gay pubs. Happening!

Super nice banana pancake! The auntie's very cute and always smiling. The one thing that i really admire about the locals, is their simple perspective of happiness.

PS. I really miss my banana chocolate pancake!
