Was talking to Sean and realised that i never got to finishing my updates of the trip. Been procrastinating for 2 weeks now. Blame it on the jet lag! Tsk tsk!

For convenience (well actually, its just an excuse to be lazy hee) i'm just gonna categorise into places:

Botany

The first place that Sean brought me to. Its like a small self-sufficient shopping town. What i remember most from botany (apart from Sean telling off this bunch of noisy bimbotic girls during our eclipse movie haha) is...

Their randomly cute lizard and ladders play mat!

Sylvia Park

Sylvia Park's a really nice place to catch a movie at hoyts (we watched a-team, toy story 3D and marmaduke here), shop and laze the day away as its pretty near Sean's place. To make things even better, there's free parking too haha! i really love their bean bag cinema. Its like i can just sink in and nua.

I feel like some hoyts ambassador lol!

One Tree Hill

Sean drove up the hill from cornwall park entrance and we stopped over along the way to take pictures.

Greeted by the sight of cows and sheep.

A cute doggie doo dumpster.

The maori monument marks the highest point of one tree hill.

Mission Bay
A really long stretch of walkway near the bay that makes it a favourable jogging route. Spotted many people fishing at the jetty as we walked further down.

Jetty!

Taken on the overhead bridge. Old railway tracks like these emit a sense of nostalgia.

Up the stairs.

Sean took us up this nameless hidden garden paradise opposite mission bay.
UPDATE: It's called Joseph Savage Memorial Park

With open fields and open skies.

Back to where we came from - STEP one.

Mount Eden
Where i finally had the chance to see the legendary crater that we studied in physical geography. It was pretty amazing.

The bestest geography field trip lol!

Devonport

Devonport experience was very much like a history field trip. Visited the abandoned barracks uphill where the place was used as a military base during world war I and II.

Leftover canons which they said, could not be disposed off properly.

Surrounding landmarks...

Rainbow over cheltenham beach.

An old-looking church along the main road. i wanted to go back and to take pictures after visiting the barracks and we actually traced the street directory for it. Getting lost was the fun part!

City

SHOPPING PARADISE! There are rows and rows of shops along high street, queen street and broadway.

Me and plushie that Sean caught on his first attempt hehe.

With sky city tower in the backdrop. According to Sean, the tower is also the tallest freestanding structure in the southern hemisphere.

Managed to take a look at Sean's uni and university of auckland, which are both located in the city. i like the neo-classical old government house in the campus. There's even a little castle inside. So freaking cool! And the buildings nearby form a pretty nice architectural framework.

Juxtaposition of the old and the new.

Buildings downslope.

Britomart transport centre, where rail meets the road. It has an open-air underground tunnel, much like our old bishan MRT station.

Auckland is also known as the city of sails. i'm not sure what the name of this harbour is though. Sean just calls it 'the harbour' lol!

Parnell

Chocolate! That's the only thing that comes to my mind. There's a small chocolate boutique there that sells super nice chocolate stuff. This is a must go for chocolate and non-chocolate lovers like me.

Satisfaction!

This covers the bulk of my 19 days. Totally love the scenery! Shall continue with the other places SOON! (cross fingers)
