On the morning of 18 DEC, we checked out of seoulwise guest house. Our very helpful host helped us flag for a cab to the shuttle bus meeting point.
Grabbed a quick bite from holly's before boarding our super comfy and spacious bus. The bus heating was so effective that after 30 mins, we had to remove our jacket. i swear i was perspiring in my long john =/
Anyway, we arrived at busan ahead of schedule. So Ping and i scouted the area for a place to settle our lunch before meeting the girls. But we encountered an emergency situation:
COMMUNICATION BREAKDOWN!
They had no menu. But thankfully with the help of xue mei's korean guide book and a time of struggling, we managed to order some food, which turned out to be really nice! Really grateful that the ajuma was patient with us :)
Grilled meat and beef stew. Love their thick gravy soup!
Purple rice. And condiments for our samgyupsal...
My very first hand-made samgyupsal. Ugly i know, haha!
Met up with Kat and Desiree after lunch at lotte mart and checked in to our busan accomodation. Accompanied the starving girls to have their late lunch of ja jiang myun and fried dumplings.
And walked over to..
Haeundae Beach
Which had already turned pitch dark at 5.30 pm. But i personally found the night view pretty captivating.
Took a freezing cold night walk around the dark place...
And went to our next stop...
Gwangali Beach
Where we saw the magnificent diamond bridge.
The changing lights were so pretty!
And because the girls were craving for fried chicken (minus the beer), we had nothing but fried chicken for dinner.
Sinfully tasty!
We set off pretty early on 19 DEC for spa to get the early bird discount. Hehehe.
SHINSEGAE
At the world's largest department store! Says the banner.
Unlike the hot springs i went to in rotorua which provided us with swim wear, spaland is an indoor facility that requires us to go totally naked. i felt a little weirded out at first but the whole spa-ing experience was really good.
We were binging on their food so much that our weight loss was offset by our food intake. LOL.
Some black raspberry vinegar drink and tea eggs. Kat happily cracked the egg on Ping's head and the sound was SO LOUD! OHMYGOD.
Korean version of ice kachang called seolbingsu that's really, REALLY NICE!
Anyway, i forgot to mention that the shower rooms are open compartments as well. Everyone can see everyone else and everything, so... i made my washing up a quick and painless process.
We went down to the shopping area around PNU for bibimbap lunch and did some cheap bag shopping. Happy!
Because Kat and Dez had a gathering to go to that night, Ping and i went food-hunting again. Our dinner was a satisfying japanese cusine at lotte world...
Totally love this! Oozing cheese wrapped in ham and tonkatsu! *drools*
NAMPODONG
We crossed over to the fashion street for an after dinner walk and were thrilled to see all the pretty christmas lights.
Compared to these, the ones we have back home look so budgeted.
And that's all i have for nampodong's christmas tree cultural festival :)
