Throwback NZ

Can't believe that 4 weekends ago i was still in NZ! *gulps*

Haven't had the time to post much, and probably won't for a long time because this term is just crazy! i'm glad i had a restful june break and managed to spend quality time with the boyfriend.

Also, we got to explore new places and food again! Which i'm going to list according to happiness and satisfaction level :)

Big J's Takeaways

While googling for supper places, we randomly found this burger shop here and read many positive reviews. We were so enticed by the gorgeous-looking burgers that we decided to check it out the next day.

The burgers were really huge and good! And did i mention, cheap? (as compared to the average NZ meal)

Got the steak and egg burger and the battered fish burger. i had to use both my hands to grab it and press down the entire stack before munching. i'm not a burger person but i actually finished everything!

The White Lady

The White Lady is equally satisfying and is open 24 hours. Its prominent white bus at commerce street is hard to miss. It's been around since 1948 and has received much press coverage.

The burgers are slightly more expensive than Big J's. We ordered the white lady burger and chicken aioli burger. Because it's a roadside kiosk, we sat on a nearby bench to eat and people who walked past us, stared at our burgers. For a good reason! One couple even commented that the burgers looked good.

AND THEY WERE REALLY GOOD.

Butlers Chocolate Cafe

A random finding at sylvia park which faces the car park that we don't usually go to and is also the only outlet in Auckland.

Our complimentary chocolates with purchase of any barista drinks. You get to choose from any of those on display.

Butlers chocolate drink and mocha. Very, very comforting on a winter's day. The staff was so very friendly and decided to take a picture with Sean haha.

And the chocolate lava cake is absolutely to-die-for! i will definitely go back again, and again!

Mink Cafe

Came here for a celebratory lunch. Located at parnell street, this is a busy restaurant that was filled with working people when we were there.

Love their pizza and calamari rings. Couldn't finish the pizza and asked the waitress to pack for us. She was really attentive and nice. Great service!

Richmond Road Cafe

Another on my must-try cafe list. The market fish was very fresh and i like their big breakfast, especially the sauteed mushrooms!

Nice quiet afternoon brunch makes me happy.

Little Tokyo

A cozy restaurant at highland park. Love their interior decorations and Asian food. i don't know how people survive on just western food but i can't, so i'm thankful for the many Asian options in Auckland!

Teriyaki pork don. Yum!

And its time for dinner now....
